- Location:
- The Abaco region of The Bahamas is approximately 175 miles east of West Palm Beach, FL.
Great Guana Cay is an outer cay, 8 miles from Marsh Harbour (MHH - airport code).
With fewer then 100 Bahamian residents, this quaint and lovely island is 7 miles long with
numerous beaches on both the Atlantic and Sea of Abaco. Wonderful marine life abound on the
world's 3rd largest reef just 100 yards offshore.
Black Tip Cove is about 1.5 miles from Great Guana Cay's Settlement Harbour.
- Transportation:
- There are many airlines that provide service to MHH through numerous Florida airports. A short taxi ride brings you to the ferry which transports you to Great Guana Cay. Any destination on Great Guana Cay can be reached by walking, although you might want to consider a bicycle or golf cart rental. Also, a boat rental might be desirable if you want to explore the waters or partake of fishing.
- Activities on Guana Cay:
- Besides relaxing and enjoying the beach and splendid views, you can enjoy dining at one of our fabulous restaurants: among others, Guana Cay is home to
Nippers Beach Bar and Grill, Grabbers Bar and

- Communication:
- Black Tip Cove has a VHF radio, a system used extensively by locals for communication through Abaco. There is wireless Internet access at the house, and there are a number of other Wi-Fi hotspots on Great Guana Cay. Also, you can use VOIP to make phone calls and check your answering services.
- What To Pack:
- Very little clothing is necessary. There are no requirements for even dressy casual attire. T-shirts and shorts are the order of the day. A laundramat in the settlement lets you easily reuse the items you do bring.
